Museum of Danish Resistance

This museum is located in Kastellet. Their credit card reader wasn't working, and since we had no cash (USD or Danish kroner), we offered to go online and buy tickets. The museum attendant told us to go through the museum and stop back on our way out to pay as she thought the credit card reader would be working by then.

The museum explained how Denmark was occupied by Germany during the war. (Germany gave Denmark various terms that Denmark had to agree to, otherwise Germany would start bombing). Denmark really didn't seem to have a choice.

The resistance in Denmark had few members to start with, but it grew as the war (and the occupation by Germany) dragged on. The museum also told the story of 5 people who worked for or against the Resistance.Read more
