Ilha Grande

Spending two days on Ilha Grande was just amazing!

We reached the island by taking a bus from Rio and changing the vehicle to a speedboat at Conceiçao de Jacareí. The island has no roads and motorised vehicles are banned, but instead it has more than 150 km of hiking trails connecting all the coastal villages and beaches. It inhabits more than 100 big or small beaches.

We would have loved to stay there much longer to discover more beaches and trails but as you know, time is flying and we soon have to go back to Switzerland.Read more
