Santorini-Pyrogos & Monestary

Pyrogos is the former capital of Santorini. A gorgeous modest village , its main square green with tall pine trees, monuments & amazing panoramic views. We found an excellent cafe/restaurant for lunch (Kastelana), through the alleys near a church with more scenic views.
We then travelled to the highest point on the island ( 567 meters above sea level), to the Monastery of Prophet Elias built in 1711. It is on the summit of Mount Profitis Ilias.
On the way to Akrotiri we saw signs to the Red Beach, but ran out of time to visit.Weiterlesen
