    Day 38

    March 17, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

    274 kms to Wentworth
    Next town: Pooncarie

Another long but pleasant days paddling, with overcast skies and light rain most of the day. Onto Pooncarie tomorrow with the promise of cold beer, hot food and internet coverage. Missing my daily fix of news and weather. First world problem I know!

TravelerA native water rat (I think)According to Wikipedia, also known as the rakali (Hydromys chrysogaster), the rabe, the "Australian Otter" or water-rat. An Australian native rodent first scientifically described in 1804. Adoption of the Aboriginal name rakali is intended to foster a positive public attitude.

TravelerPS There’s a golf course at Pooncarie as well as a Hotel … and it’s only 120 kms from Wentworth!

    River Murray paddle

TravelerThere's actually a racecourse here too according to my map. Not bad for a town of 40 people!
