ПутешественникIt’s the castle that they used as the idea for Cinderella’s castle at Disneyland. Hogwarts castle was modeled from one in Edinburgh. I will see that one over New Years.

I wonder why here, the snow is low on the pasture and hills above are green. The opposite of Innsbruck. First photo is Landeck, second is Innsbruck.
ПутешественникIt might be related to clouds. Los clouds can trap the cold in the bottom of the valley while it's warmer in the hills above the clouds. It's called a temperature inversion. Cold low warm going up.

ПутешественникIt was indeed slate or whatever the native rock around is called. I didn’t see many houses that use it though. Most of the “old” buildings have a stone foundation and then are wood for the main construction. I would thin the slate is too heavy on wood with you’d need to go all stone construction.

Complete Swiss meal with rachlette (a slab of toasted cheese). Except they served French fries with the steak it was perfect.

ПутешественникThat looks like a lot of food! 3 course meal Is that Pachetto or another cured meet on the 1st round? Looks like you should have bread or crackers for the cheese dish. Was the desert worm or cold?
ПутешественникThe cheese was melted and gooey. Which makes it easy the eat. Like a fondue, pick up some cheese add a bite of potato the meat was dry dried. More dry than panchetta. The desert was apricot sorbet covered in apricot liquor. It wasn’t super sweet which was great. The steak was a little undercooked and it was small so the meal was very manageable. Turned out to be my only meal of the day. Dinner was a snack of cheese and crackers from Migros take-away.

I’m not sure if the prices are good or comparable. The sunglasses have built in Bose speakers. When I put them on the sound was great. Not sure how to use them on top of my glasses.

ПутешественникI think they keep it in English. Most of the people understand English. Although television is dubbed into German. It is funny to hear South Park and Family Matters in German. The voices are all off as well as the language.
ПутешественникWe used to live in Mannheim Germany, ate this all the time and loved it!
