The town of Hvar is on the island of Hvar, about 47K from Split. The fast catamaran ferry gets there in about one hour. I went for a day.

ReisenderIt’s hard to visualize that this same town was a bombed out war zone with everything you see now damaged, including the bridge destroyed by artillery. Everything has been rebuilt to UNESCO standards after the war ended 25 years ago
