Chasing the Lights

We joined a small group tour tonight to chase the Northern Lights. Being a bucket list items I was so excited and very hopeful we would see this phenomenon in all its glory. We had been warned that the display might not be flashy so I had tried to dampen my expectations so as not to be disappointed. We were also told that the lights show up more prominently in photographs and what we will see with the naked eye won’t be like what we have seen in photos. It was good to have these expectations prior to starting the tour.
Our first stop seemed to be a precarious one with our van pulling over to the side of a road surrounded by snow banks. And it actually wasn’t that quite a road. However as soon as we hopped out we got our first glimpse of the Northern Lights and were already excited and impressed.
