    Yonghe Temple

    August 20, 2019 in China ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C

We went to the Yonghe Temple, also known as the Yonghe Lamasery, or popularly as the Lama Temple, a temple and monastery of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism located in Dongcheng District. The building and artwork of the temple is a combination of Han Chinese and Tibetan styles.

Inside there is a big 18 m tall White Sandalwood statue of the Maitreya Buddha. It's quite impressive to see it. Very nice.
