    The Forbidden City

    August 22, 2019 in China ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

For the last day we visited the Forbidden City. We had to buy the ticket in advance to go there because only (ONLY?!) 80.000 tickets are sold for each day.

The Forbidden City was the former Chinese imperial palace from the Ming dynasty to the end of the Qing dynasty (the years 1420 to 1912). It served as the home of emperors and their households and was the ceremonial and political center of Chinese government for almost 500 years.

We took all the morning to visit it and it was very crowded. After that we went to the Jingshan park to admire the Forbidden City from the top. What a nice view and so much tranquility there.
