Burford is a town on the River Windrush, in the Cotswold hills, in the West Oxfordshire district of Oxfordshire, England. It is often referred to as the 'gateway' to the Cotswolds. Burford is located 18 miles west of Oxford and 22 miles southeast of Cheltenham, about 2 miles from the Gloucestershire boundary.
Burford's famous High Street sweeps downhill towards the River Windrush, its three-arched medieval bridge and its impressive church, both sides of the street flanked by an unbroken line of ancient houses and shops.

TravelerChurch of St John the Baptist, this was really pretty. The grave stones with a half looking barrel on top are supposed to represent a bail of wool. So this means wealth. The grave yard was lovely, but you can no longer read names on some they have deteriorated so much.
