Our lady of the rocks island

One stop on our boat trip was to the island of our lady of the rocks. The legend is that 500 years ago two sailors found a rock sticking out of the water. One of them had a lame leg. They supposedly found a relic there that they brought home with them and the next day the man could walk. They vowed to return to that rock and build an island with a church. They went every day with their boat full of rocks and dumped rocks into the water to build an island. It took a 100 years to build the island and the church.
