Little Carcassonne - Rodemack

Holed up on a free aire put in by the council. Rodemack has a defensive wall round it, built by the villagers in the 13th century, of which 700m remain. The main arched entrance was partially dynamited by the Americans in 1944 so they could get access to the village to liberate it. Other than that it’s not one of the most picturesque medieval villages we’ve been to, and, it was All Saints Day so the village was shut 😉.
