Today I went to Communa 13 it used to be the most dangerous district in the world. The tour was very powerful, emotional and full of hope.

In the afternoon I watched the local football team Atletico Nacional (1) against Rionegro Águilas (0). There was a 90 minutes party from the fans. Never seen something like that in a stadium.Weiterlesen

The cities full name is Cartagena de Indias after the Spanish city and the to differentiate de Indias in its relation to west India. The city was attacked sometimes because its relevance as harbour for examply by the british "pirate" Francis Drake. After that they built a wall around the city and was never taken again. Cartagenas colonial archutecure is amazing.Weiterlesen

  • Castillo San Felipe de Barajas

    22. Oktober 2019 in Kolumbien ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

The San Felipe castle was built in 1536 and was the most important defence weapon against invadors. Especially when britain under Edward Vernon attacked the city in 1741. The spaniards were outnumbered by one to ten but still could hold the castle unter the lead of Blas de Lezo who just had one eye, one arm and one leg. Vernon was so convinced about the victory he sent home coins in advance about his victory...well that did not happen. The coins are visible on the statue of Blas de Lezo infront of the castle.Weiterlesen

  • Ciudad Perdida

    31. Oktober 2019 in Kolumbien ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C

The Ciudad Perdida Tour is a 4 day hiking tour (47km) through the amazing nature of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. This was maybe one of the best experiences in my life. Getting up at 5, having only cold water, natural pools, indigenas people, many animals and the wild nature all that made it a stunning adventure. We got a lot of information about the culture of the Kogi and other indigenas groups there and had also the possibility to talk with a representative of the community. On the third day we arrived the Lost City, Ciudad Perdida or it's original name Templo de Juna.Weiterlesen

On the way down my chain of the bike broke. Luckily we were close to the city and it we went down. In Quimbaya we took a Jeep that brings us back to Filandia. On the way the Jeep completely broke down. Some friendly Columbians took us back to Filandia. Very exciting day :DWeiterlesen

  • Trip from San Augustin to Pasto

    18. November 2019 in Kolumbien ⋅ 🌧 17 °C

Had a 17 hours travel from San Augustin to Pasto (154km). The first part was from Pitalito to Mocoa. It should be just a 4 to 5 hours bus ride but after 3 hours due to havy rains the cars couldn't cross the street anymore. So we had to leave the bus and walk 1,5 hours through very bad street conditions. I helped a family carrying their bags. This was really exhausting. After we managed it we had to wait till somoene took us to Mocoa.

Part two was a crazy busride as well. 7 hours from Mocoa to Pasto. Here we had to take a street called "Tranpolin de la Muerte". One of the most dangerous streets in South America with 30cm between the weel of the bus and cliffs that goes down straight hundreds of meters. But I survived and arrived in Pasto.
