• Day 26 - Lightning Ridge

    August 20 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

Not sure I can continue to enjoy these perfect mornings. It sure makes it wonderful in the artesian spa which I managed to wake for again today.

I was on my Pat Malone again as I had no takers

To take things even further I rode into town to find the local bakery. Utter shock and dismay that after riding the streets in search of said establishment my ol’ mate ChatGpt confirmed my worst nightmare……….NO BAKERY. Exists in LR.

After the show we saw the other night we booked the morning Devonshire tea and tour of artist John Murray’s first house on the Ridge (now owned by Mel lll).. It is now owned operated as a tourist attraction by Bush Poets Mel and Susie. What a talent these ladies are.
They were able to articulate so much about so many topics.

We took a walk through town today…..that certainly didn’t take long. Gail, Anne and Julie bought a few pieces of jewellery containing genuine Ridge Opals.

Most of us bought some form of John Murray art from his gallery.

Another relatively early day back at the park today.

Graham helped me sort out some maintenance on the van. I once again, unsuccessfully tried to sort out the motion sensor on our awning.

One huge win today was that we managed to sort out the telescope. Got it focused properly on the moon. A massive achievement.

Ended the day with Julie’s fantastic sweet and sour chicken. Only issue was that it contained capsicum.
