Day 32 - Charlotte Plains to Charleville

Just like that, we were back to a stunning morning. Clear sky, very brisk and lots of dew around.

I managed to get up at sparrows fart again, headed for my morning constitutional and then into the hot artesian bath once again. It certainly is a great way to start the day.

More goats visiting us as we packed up. They obviously blend in well with the hundreds of tourists that must visit this great place.

Whilst I didn’t mention accessing Charlotte Plains the other day, it was about 5 kms on gravel. Many places in the outback become inaccessible after rain, and as yesterdays post alluded to we had rain. There was the slight risk that the road leading in/out would be out of service. as it was, one of the roads to an alternative part of the station was in fact out of action.

Today, we were lucky, we were able to get out but not before layering many parts of the car and van in thick mud. There were many lakes of red muddy water we could not avoid as we left.

Breakfast today was about 50 kms east at a place called Cunamulla. Coffee and pastries……once again.

It was about two and a half half hours from Cunamulla to Charleville once again traversing some pretty suspect roads.

Arrived at our park which is about 8 or 9 kms from town, set up, did a bit of well needed washing then into town for supplies and fuel. I got real excited at the prospect of a car wash, but that was short lived.
