• Day 38 - Kinka Beach (Yeppoon)

    September 1 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 16 °C

    Back to the norm……awesome sunrise.

Today I joined the doggo crew hitting the beach at sunrise. It was pretty awesome. Watching Stevie chase her toy in and out of the water followed by the others as they arrived was great.

The ladies decided it was pamper day. They chose to hit Yeppoon proper, have brekkie, do some shopping and have a pedi. Two out of three ain’t bad. They couldn’t all get in for a pedi at the same time.

Peter, Graham and I operated Doggo Daddy Daycare….for…..over…..three…..hours. This was of course after another bacon and egg morning, which included Uncle Dave.

Upon the ladies returning from their partially failed venture the lads decided more pampering was needed. We took 3 of our beats for pampering. Graham drove Anne’s because he managed a rudimentary wash at Lightning Ridge so his wasn’t screaming for attention.

What a very pleasing exercise. Projecting high pressure h2o infused with ph neutral cleanser against the outer layer of our chariots……..watching the built up red dust disappear into the bowels of the earth down the drain.

This joy needed to be rewarded so Peter and I hit the first 24 hour drive through bottle shop we’d ever seen, to purchase some liquid gold., whilst Graham hit a pharmacy to secure additional pharmaceutical assistance to aid in the removal of his bronchial affliction.

Grahams venture proved to be valuable in not only said drugs but securing advice on a great tourist lookout. Peter and I met him at said location just in time to witness a para-sailor launch himself into the fresh afternoon breeze (see attached video).

We were planning on roast chicken for dinner, but a text from the caravan park admin team alerting us to the fact a Thai Food van was visiting from 5 till 7 changed those plans.

A mix of pad thai, sweet and sour, fish cakes, curry puffs, massaman curries, spring rolls was a welcome change for dinner..

NB. Whilst not specifically addressing this previously, one of the great things about the travelling life if meeting people from all walks of like. Yesterday’s post revealed the total coincidence of bumping into someone Gail and I knew - Pieter.

I don’t know much about boxing but I’ve heard of Harry Garside (Olympic Boxer and reality tv star)…..I met his Dad in the artesian baths at Charlotte Plains, then just this evening there was Andre from Currambine, doing a lap of Oz with his black Labrador whilst completing his CPA online.

Other memorable characters will be added in subsequent posts (if and as I remember them 🤔).
