Day 49 - Tewantin
September 12 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C
A night of continuous drizzle has left the park very water logged. The clay on the east coast does not consume the water like our soil in WA does. Still amongst the birds though.
Sort of an early start as we wanted to visit the markets again.
Saturdays are a bigger day that also included an inclusive/all abilities collection of retailers. Everything from cards to Smokey meat rubs.
Only bought a few things and managed to get away quite early.
Tonight was THE party.
Jodie and Casey had hired a minivan for all of us staying at the park. This was welcomed with mixed emotions. The relief of no one having to remain sober, but the reality that a minivan service takes us there once and brings us home at a dedicated time. Pickup was 3.30 and pickup for the return journey was the witching hour - midnight.
There might have been one night so far on tour we’ve lasted even close to that time. This would be a test for all of us.
Well, It went off……like a frog in a sock. The marquee was now decorated and grazing plates in place. We’d set up a stage for a band the previous day, but there was also a juke.
People came and went throughout the night (a luxury we didn’t have o course).
There wasn’t a time someone wasn’t on the dance floor. The band had an awesome repertoire of songs.
Whilst I’d mentioned it was a wedding, it was also an early celebration of Anne and Jodie’s ??th birthdays. (A gentleman never asks a lady’s age)
Casey had arranged a great surprise for all. A selection of shooters to be consumed while watching a fire dancer. Pretty special in the Forrest in the pitch black.
Sustenance was firstly via the grazing plates followed by fresh onsite prepared pizzas. It’s amazing what trailers can be configured with these days.
Everyone danced the night away, drinking, eating and laughing.
Elyce (Anne’s daughter) and Peyton (Jodie’s daughter) gave a very entertaining and emotional tributes to their mums……tears and laughter had by all.
There were some very funny and at times incriminating actions by all. But……those actions that happen in Cooroy……….stay in Cooroy.
The bus ride home was quite jovial but had to be reigned in upon entering the park.Read more
