• Day 50 - Tewantin

    September 13 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

More rain overnight, but clear as we all surfaced this morning. Some feeling a little better than others, however no names shall be revealed.

Not sure I mentioned yesterday, but all the doggos had a sleepover at a canine resort. So this morning everyone was able to have a well earned lie in. I’m pretty sure that was the case, but I know there was some separation anxiety experienced by some, particularly Peter.

Graham was the first to go and retrieve Ruby, then we all headed back to Jodie and Casey’s to help cleanup and have a great cook up for breakfast.

Peter’s separation anxiety commenced immediately after leaving Stevie yesterday. In fact we almost had to physically restrain him from highjacking our bus driver to detour to the kennel where Stevie was accommodated. I’m sure he would haven broken in, just to be reunited with Stevie.

That anxiety resulted in Peter and Julie departing Jodie and Casey’s prior to breakfast. Most of us agreed Peter would take longer to recover from the trauma than Stevie would, There is photographic evidence of Stevie’s welcome home.

Anne decided Mace and Peppa could have a double sleepover so she’s not picking them up till Tomorrow.

Gail and I left breakfast to shop for tonight’s BBQ which would be bigger than normal given the extra guests.

Although unconfirmed I was advised most of us had a nap this arvo with me getting a few hours of shut eye.

Steak, chops, kebabs, sausages and salad for dinner. I’m pretty sure there were only a handful of us indulging in alcoholic beverages this evening.

I can’t be sure but I think Peter and I are the only ones yet to have an alcoholic free day. No doubt this statement will be fact checked tomorrow.

Corollary to yesterday’s post. I was taken aback when I began the customary moves to the classic Aussie anthem - “Eagle Rock” but the only other male to join me was Mitch. This expression of male choreography generated considerable interest from a few ladies who had decided they needed to express their own voyeuristic statements.

I was also somewhat bemused this morning when Mitch advised he had never experienced this tradition before. I guess I’m just lucky Mitch and I are on the same wave length and have the same penchant for theatrical expression.

This classic expression of masculinity proves that dignity is optional.

The land of nod was welcomed by all as I believe the effects of the previous night were still impacting life.
