• Flight home

    April 18, 2025 in Georgia ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

We departed in the afternoon, allowing us to enjoy the view and soak up some sunshine in Tbilisi. Our journey included two flights: the first was a 2.5-hour trip to Istanbul, where we had a complimentary seat in our row, a main meal, and entertainment screens. We even managed to play Mario Kart on the Switch. Afterward, we experienced a hectic dash through Istanbul Airport, needing to pass through security and discard our water. We were frustrated, as we only had 50 minutes to catch our next flight, which had been moved up by 10 minutes. Despite the rush and the airport’s tight security, we made it in plenty of time, thanks to the flight being displayed as a transfer on our previous flight. The final flight lasted 4.5 hours, with another meal served, and we finally arrived home in the late evening, though it felt later due to the UK being 3 hours behind.

Would definitely fly with Turkish airlines and Azerbaijan airlines again, far better for short and medium haul than any of the UK based on budget airlines.
