  • Hotel Xcaret Arte

    31 juillet 2023, Mexique ⋅ 🌙 28 °C

What a beautiful place this hotel is. With the emphasis (like their parks) on sustainability and working with the natural environment. The result is a hotel that alongside the normal amenities, such as pools, has rivers, caves and islands running through it. And all of the restaurants are focused on Mexican authentic cuisine, no burgers and chips (thankfully!) to be found anywhere. It also focuses on art and so there is artwork everywhere, plants on every surface and artistic workshops in each of the ‘casa’s’ that make up the hotel.En savoir plus

  • Xplor

    1 août 2023, Mexique ⋅ ☀️ 33 °C

So xplor park I think we agree is probably the most fun we’ve ever had.

Zip lining was beyond incredible over the rainforest and it allowed you to either go down as a pair or individually (we mixed it up), doing about 10 different lines of different heights (with a LOT of stairs between) and the last one ending in water.

We also swam through natural caves for about 40 minutes, they even had bats 🦇 sleeping and flying around!

Amphibious vehicles 🚗 were great fun, if a little terrifying with Richard behind the wheel, he definitely enjoyed drenching us both going through the massive puddle at speed!

  • A gift in the room

    1 août 2023, Mexique ⋅ 🌙 29 °C

Every night we get the bed turned down and a gift left for us, water placed by the bed while we were out to dinner or at the parks. Not something we were expecting (or have ever experienced before!) but the little handmade gift box is a lovely addition and now have loads of them to bring home. In this case we also got wine and a chocolate rose to celebrate our honeymoon.En savoir plus

  • Xsenses

    3 août 2023, Mexique ⋅ ⛅ 34 °C

What a weird and wonderful place. The whole park is based on using your senses and showing a distorted reality. The dressing rooms had eyes, there were toilets with 20 toilet rolls, ones on top of a mine cart and with mirrors amongst others. Then you walked through a town, where it looked like you were walking uphill but felt like it was downhill. There was flying like a bird, salt water and sludge relaxation trails, lemonade from a ‘lemonade tree’, walking through a pitch black route, and so many others.En savoir plus

  • Resort days activities

    4 août 2023, Mexique ⋅ ⛅ 33 °C

We only managed 2 resort days as there were so many activities to do in the parks that we could go to for free, but even at the resort we managed to do so many activities including:
    - Pottery workshop
    - Weaving workshop
    - Macarame mat workshop
    - Kayaking
    - Swimming in the river
    - A small area on the beach

Naturally with it also being all inclusive it also meant visiting some lovely bars, rooftop pools and beautiful restaurants.

  • Xenotes

    5 août 2023, Mexique ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

This was a whole day tour that took us further into the jungle, around a few of the many cenotes (sink holes) that are around the area. Within them we swam, jumped off of cliffs, rappelled into them, zip-line into them, snorkelling and kayaking. Absolutely stunning locations that these pictures don’t even manage to capture part of. They were all different cenotes such as closed (so we had to rappel into), to open and ancient.En savoir plus

  • Xcaret park

    6 août 2023, Mexique ⋅ ☀️ 33 °C

The park that started it all. The focus being on exploring the Mexican culture and promoting sustainability this is an ecological park that preserves the ancient Mayan structures, focuses on growing plants for reforestation and cares for injured animals with reintroduction into the wild. There was so much to do and see here we spent two days wandering around.En savoir plus
