Taking advantage of a rare appearance by the sun, Kevin and I went for a lovely evening walk to the glacier. Nice to get away from the crowds.
Another hotel another wonderful setting. Very comfortable - but poor choice of carpet and pelmets on the curtains…. 😅It’s all about the detail!

A week on Iceland and have finally found beer nirvana. And a brilliant hotel. And a car museum. We like Breiodalsvik.
One small issue with our hire car. When the satnav says turn left sometimes it means turn right. But not all of the time.
After me beating James at chess (actually rather more the other way around!), we went to the Factory Car Museum to see one of only two cars manufactured in Iceland and then James had a bounce on aWeiterlesen
As it turns out, bubbling pools of sulphur are really, really smelly. So much so, that you feel the urge to bathe in the stuff. Very surreal to see people outside bathing in hot milky water. Felt lessWeiterlesen
A circular tour today. First up Husavik, where we went to the impressive whale museum. Whales are big. And, according to the video narrated by (who else?) David Attenborough, they are also clever. WeWeiterlesen
So many wonderful waterfalls here. This one was particularly powerful. And wetting.
