UK day 8- Lakes Disrict- Beatrix Potter

A lovely drive through the Lakes District over the pass and into Bowness on Windermere, had some morning tea and a walk around the shops. We caught a ferry over lake Windermere to Near Sawrey where Beatrix Potter lived. A walk around the village and noted many things that inspired drawings and stories in her books. We looked in the house and her garden.
We drove to Grasmere and had some lunch and a walk around, bought some gingerbread unique to this part of the world. Back to the cottage for a lovely night sitting around the log fire.Read more
