Ota River, Hiroshima

It was Sunday in Hiroshima and everyone was enjoying the sunshine and Sakura by the Ota River against the ever present background of the A-dome. A Kendo Tournament was on - a Japanese martial art using bamboo swords and protective armour blending physical and spiritual aspects of technique and discipline. A local shrine had traditional entertainment which attracted quite a crowd and food stalls. The Temple had some families attending in traditional dress.
