The Garni Temple is a remarkable ancient Greco-Roman temple located in the village of Garni, Armenia, about 28 km southeast of the capital city, Yerevan. It stands as one of the most iconic and well-preserved examples of classical Armenian architecture.

Built in the 1st century AD by King Tiridates I, the Garni Temple was dedicated to the sun god Mihr. The temple's design is influenced by Hellenistic architectural styles, featuring a peristyle design with 24 Ionic columns surrounding the central shrine.

The temple's location is equally impressive, set against a backdrop of stunning natural beauty, with the Azat River Gorge adding to its picturesque setting. The surrounding landscape, characterized by rocky cliffs and lush greenery, enhances the temple's grandeur and historical significance.

Despite facing various challenges throughout its history, including earthquakes and invasions, the Garni Temple has been remarkably well-preserved. It stands as a testament to Armenia's rich cultural heritage and serves as a reminder of the country's ancient roots.
