San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua

After just one day of sailing, we arrived at this Nicaraguan seaside resort. It was hot, 32 degrees, with calm seas. It was a lovely approach to the bay and the town with a statue of Christ perched on top of the hill and which dominated the town. A small band played 'samba' music as we disembarked the tender and beautifully dressed dancers danced for us. It was a lovely welcome. We had a beer in a local bar and managed to Skype home. It was a colourful town, a mixture of the ramshackle and ornate, tired but evocative of a bygone age.Baca lagi
