Kernave

First capital of Lithuania and an archaeological site. 5 mounds/hill forts surrounded by a village. There is a view from the top of the highest mound and from down by the river contemplating no need for a stairmaster today. There is also the oldest paved road in Lithuania from the middle of the first millenium. The area was swamp and bog, so the logs laid down for crossing are preserved. Also the have built a reconstruction of the village from the 13th/14th century. Note the oven for n the house. The is new to me.Baca selengkapnya
