Uyuni salt flats

Former lake that has a salt bed more than a meter thick. The first pic looks across some be of the 12,000+ sq km of salt, while the second is a similar view at sunset. The third looks over the standing water that begins to appear in the rainy season, mostly as runoff from the mountains. The 4th gives a sense of scale with people in view. The last two are of a cave that has been built up with stones and used as a tomb. The burial has been dated to the 1200s.Read more
