National capital of Brazil, built as a new city begining in the 1950s. City is a UNESCO site. However, it is the city plan that has the designation, not any of the buildings. Many of the buildings and the concept for the city were designed by Oscar Niemeyer. First is a model of the city that tries to show the plan. Then 4 of Niemeyer's buildings: the national theater, the chapel of our Lady of Fatima (The first church in Brasilia), the presidential palace and a building designed per the original concept. The original concept for Brasilia was that all buildings would be on piers so that the ground level was open, public space.
