Tour of ancient Rome

At 2.30pm our Roman guide, a lovely lady named Verena, met us at our hotel and took us on a guided walking tour of some of the highlights of Ancient Rome. We went to the Mamertine Prison, where Peter and Paul were probably incarcerated prior to their executions, the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palestine Hill. These were all enlightened by our guide’s relentless instruction and dry sense of humour.
