TravelerThe US has a large population of people who emigrated from Ireland, especially during the Great (Potato) Famine in the early-mid 1800s. Plus we enjoy celebrating different ethnic festivals throughout the year, depending where you live and which European country provided significant immigration to the specific area. And if there’s good food and alcohol involved, even better! I was just at a German festival last year, it was small but has happened for many decades.
TravelerI should maybe mention, we have a ton of German heritage areas and festivals (among other nationalities and ethnicities.) Even in Texas there is Fredericksburg and New Braunfels with large populations descended from German settlers and immigrants. I’m not aware of any areas known for having a significant number of Swiss descendants , maybe they exist or there were no major reasons for a Swiss exodus to the US.
TravelerThanks for your Comments.
