After a delightful dinner in the new, enormous, Prime 7 restaurant on our first night we have arrived at St Malo in Brittany. We are anchored off and will take a tender ashore later today.
We took a bus to Dinard where we had a degustation lunch in the Michelin one star restaurant ‘Le pourquoi pas’. Delightful setting overlooking the sea, fab food ( crab bisque with crab cakes to die for) and a very good looking chef!
On our way there the bridge opened to let all the yachts in and out of the Lock. It’s a hugely boaty place, yachts everywhere. The tide has a 14metre fall! And runs at 5-6 knots at a guess. The ship’s tender had a nightmare time mooring up.
In the afternoon we walked the ramparts of the old town and visited a few shops and bars. Discovered more about its connection to the UK snd even saw the Island where Chateaubriand is buried.
