We were a little more relaxed in leaving Salem, as we knew it was a short drive to Centralia. We made it through Portland taking I-5. Loren missed the turn and wound up on the I-405 which is a short loop in downtown Portland that luckily rejoins I-5 before heading over the Columbia River. They couldn’t issue the prescription because they didn’t have our insurance so we had to go back a few hours later, but we were able to get some supportive medications and she started feeling better. Donna (a high school friend of Peggy’s and one of our bridesmaids) and Joe Bouchard live just outside of Centralia and we joined them for a dinner of chicken pot pie, mead, and cream puffs.Read more
