    May 9 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Nothing planned for today, we decided to just wander around and see what we come across. I went down to the Trevi Fountain at 5.30am and almost had the place to myself. I took a million photos from all angles, then put my phone down and just sat there and took it all in. I don’t know what my obsession is with this fountain, but I just love it. 😍 By 6am there were people slowly coming in but it was still very peaceful and empty. I went back and hopped in bed to look at all my photos. The fountain is about a 1 minute walk, which I planned so I could go as often as I liked. Once we were up we headed off in search of a new suitcase. Mine is almost dead. We walked up the Spanish Steps and into a little church at the top. Then unexpectedly, a massive group of motorcycles rode past, escorted by the police. Hundreds, if not thousands of motorcycles in a convoy through the streets of Rome. I tried Googling what the event was but didn’t find anything. It lasted about 15 minutes straight. We then walked through Piazza Navona, then on to a place where we bought a new suitcase to continue our travels. Poor Peter was nearly carrying my 23kg bag in the end. The wheels were buckled, the chassis was bent, it’s had a rough ride. lolRead more
