• Sapphire

While we were at Julia Creek, we decided to go to Sapphire where Nan and pop were waiting for us. We stayed at Graves Hill campground for one week.

The first thing we did when we got there was jump out of the car swerve past Nan and give pop a hug. While nan, dad and Mum were out fossicking pop, Lachie and I would play poker, and sometimes there was a little bit of swearing involved. Every morning, while we were sitting by the fire, a rainbow lorikeet would come down and land on one of our chairs, and we would feed it apple. At night, we were feeding a bettong carrot, a bettong is basically a mini kangaroo.

While we were out there, I couldn’t find a single sapphire, so we decided to buy a bag of wash from in town and we found heaps of gems. I liked buying bags because they had a willoughby which is basically a sieve on a spring that makes it go up and down easier.

Once again, it was sadly time to leave the old people again🥳.
