• Day Two - Sea Day

    July 7 in Iceland ⋅ ☁️ 7 °C

Because of the change in route we had a day at sea today. The route taking us ever so close to the Arctic Circle. Buffet breakfast followed by a bracing walk on deck and time to relax - exactly what we need. As the day went on we could see the coast of Iceland, around 20 miles to the South. The sun was out and the water a beautiful blue. Spotted a few Minki Whales in the distance as well as some porpoises. The snow capped mountains looked magnificent in the distance. We also snuck in a game of Beanie, a chat to Chloe from ORCA charity and a later Q&A where she talked about the work she does and the wealth of local marine life. Around 7pm we entered the artic circle to the east of Grimsey Island.Read more
