TravelerA new country and the start of what will be an amazing experience. Looking forward so much to seeing the beauty of Iceland as well as getting to see some amazing marine life. We boarded the Star Pride (part of the Windstar group) at 1pm and were immediately impressed by the high standard and quality of the ship. The level of friendliness and customer service really stood out from the moment we stepped on board. A lovely spacious and well equipped cabin awaited us. After getting settled in and enjoying a buffet lunch, we went up on deck for the sail away. Enjoyed a few cocktails and a rather fantastic old fashioned before a superb dinner in the beautiful Amphora restaurant. What has really stood out is how staff members are remembering our names after just one or two meetings, it creates a lovely, welcoming sense of feeling special. After dinner we found out that the ship was having to change route because of storms. This meant that our first excursion - an ATV ride on Heimaey Island was cancelled. We took this in our stride and booked a spa experience instead !
