    Weekend in leeds

    March 24 in England ⋅ ⛅ 12 °C

We went to leeds this weekend to stay with our friend leila from barcelona. Leila lives in a really nice 3 story share house with 6 other girls who were all super cool. We arrived early Friday night and there was a house party on that night that everyone was going to so we did some pre drinks at the house and then went to that. The party was so wicked, everyone under the age of 25 in the UK wants to be a dj so the music was super sick and they had big speakers and lights all set up in the house so it felt like a proper rave. Spencer forgot our usb so we didn't get to do a set but honestly that was fine coz it meant we got to have a really authentic uk experience listening to what people play over here. After the party a heap of people came back to the house we were staying at and we all just sat up drinking and talking. A bunch of the girls had ex's at the party so there was heaps of drama and they were all talking so much shit in their British accents which was hysterical. The next morning we were quite groggy and left the house at about lunchtime with no real idea of what to do. We ended up spending the day just cruising around the city centre popping in at random bars. We went to a rooftop bar, a wetherspoons which was super super busy and to a board game bar where we ended up paying like 10 pounds an hour just to play uno ahahah. At night we went to a garage event set up by a random dj collective in the attic of a student bar. I was so stoked we went to that coz I was starting to get worried I'd be leaving the UK without getting to see any proper good garage. That finished at about 12 but we were all kinda on a level at that point so we went to another event at a place called wire and then went home at around 4. Considering how groggy we were in the morning it was so great we managed to turn it around and have such an action packed fun day :). On Sunday it was beautiful and sunny so we went for a walk through a really nice (and very muddy) park and then had a Sunday roast at a classic pub. I got a nut roast which was delicious and it came with Yorkshire pudding so I got to have Yorkshire pudding in Yorkshire!! Easily top 5 roasts I've ever had, it was so good to have a good hearty meal like that for a change, it's been ages. We left soon after that which was a bit of a sad goodbye but that's just coz we'd had such a good time :).Read more
