Thielsen View CG, OR

For years my favorite bike trail was the real trail in Raleigh, North Carolina, but today this has become my favorite bike trail. The trail is an 11 mi paved trail around diamond Lake and is extremely scenic with many different landscapes the whole way around the lake.
The campground is named because you have a great view of Mt Thielsen, a composite volcano. I had no idea that Oregon has an extensive amount of volcanoes. Mt Thielsen is called the lightening rod of the Cascades. It's a National Park. So for us with the Senior Pass it's only$7.50 a night. I highly recommend getting a pass because you get into all the national parks for free and half off national parks camping.Read more
