We flew into Hobart in the morning and the weather was a bit dreary and wet. we decided to head off to Richmond to explore and have lunch at Czeg. So lovely to see everything in bloom since it was spring. Of course we had to end the day at the best Italian in Hobart, Don Camillo.Read more

We started the day with breakfast at Bear with Me and then made the executive decision to head up to Kunanyi as the day seemed pretty clear. It was as usual windy and freezing but worth braving for the beautiful view. After surviving Kunanyi, we headed off to Mount Field National Park where we hiked to see the three waterfalls in an anti-clockwise direction to avoid climbing the dreaded stairs.Read more

Today we decided to drive south towards Huonville. We stopped off first at Willie Smith's Apple Shed where we had their toasted sandwich and shared an apple pie. We then decided to drive down towards Cockle Creek. It was a short walk to a beautiful statue of a whale highlighting the location's whaling history. Wasn't much else to see along the way but at least the sun came out and the water was beautiful. Once again it was freezing and the clouds did roll in and we didn't stick around as it started raining. Dinner tonight was Bar Wa Izakaya. Always impressive meals!Read more

We started off the day by heading to Salamanca Markets. Thankfully no cruise ship today so just the usual crowds of tourists. Afterwards we headed off to the airport to pick Kirk up and decided to drive out to the Tasman Peninsular, Tesselated Beach and the Tasman Arch. We tried to have our last dinner at Don Camillo but since it was a Saturday night we couldn't get a table so we elected to get some takeaway instead. It was still delicous :)Read more

Today we said goodbye to our lovely little house in Hobart and started our drive to Cradle Mountain. We decided to take a bit of a longer route - up the east coast so that we could visit Kate's Berry Farm to sample the usual Humbleberry pie. Then we drove inland towards Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm to pick up the chocolate coated raspberries.
We made it to Cradle Mountain in the afternoon. We drove out to Dove Lake intending to have out dinner however there wasn't any place to sit and eat.
We watch the sun set and the different colours on the mountain. It was such a clear evening. We drove back to Ronny Creek to try and have dinner at the picnic benches there but it was too cold so we decided to go back to our warm cabin instead.

We decided to do the Dove Lake Circuit today. It was a bit cloudy and windy and predicted to get worse towards the afternoon and so the drizzle wasn't heavy. By the time we finished it was starting to get heavier and so we retreated back to our cabin.
For the afternoon we did the Joey experience at Devils at Cradle which was wonderful. We got to pat two Tasmanian Devil Joey's, Pancake the wombat and a baby Quoll. It was a truly unforgettable experience.

Today was our big walk. We decided to tackle Marion's Lookout via Lake Lila and Wombat pools and then come back via the Horse Track. It was a beautiful and clear day and not too many people. We even saw a couple of wombats at Ronny Creek when we finished our walk.
We decided to drive back to Dove Lake the evening again and watch the sun set - a nice way to finish our last night in Cradle.
