• 02.08.2024 Cook Strait Sea Day 1/4

    8 lutego 2024, Nowa Zelandia ⋅ 🌙 63 °F

Today we return to 4 sea days in a row.
We were supposed to have scenic sailing of Milford and Doubtful sounds today, which are the New Zealand fjords of the South Island of New Zealand but there is a storm brewing in the Tasman sea with winds of 50-70 knots (57-80 mph) which of course makes our seas very high with waves. As the Captain says it’s like being inside a washing machine. So we are heading a little farther north to avoid the rough weather as we make our way to Melbourne, Australia.
Both Myron and Diana have haircuts today.
We attended Nitza Lowenstein lecture on “Rich History of Māori Culture…”
We had a pretty relaxing day followed by dinner in The Restaurant with Paul, Donna, Randy and Vicki. A very nice dinner and visit.

We ended the evening seeing the performance of the Viking vocalist in the Star Theatre.
