    OREGON!

    May 4, 2016 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 68 °F

We arrived in Oregon Monday, 5/2...it's good to be home! We had a lovely drive to Clyde Holliday State Park in Mt Vernon just west of John Day.
Tuesday was spent exploring the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument where we visited the Thomas Condon Paleontology Center and hiked the Blue Basin. We also went to the Painted Hills...stunning views! Saw the shoe tree on the way back to camp.

Today we went to the Kam Wah Chung visitors center then took a guided tour through the building. Fascinating history of the immigration of the Chinese into Oregon. http://oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=parkPa…
We also strolled through downtown John Day.

I like the shoe tree. Did y'all add to it?
