We had a beautiful drive back to Desert Hot Springs. Thursday night was spent in Willows, CA where we had scrumptious tacos at Elenita's, a wonderful family owned restaurant we highly recommend.

Friday we headed over Tejon pass, aka the Grapevine, which was closed due to snow the day before. Google maps suggested a detour off I 5 to hwy 138 to 15, very pretty until we hit holiday traffic and folks parked along the side of the road to play in the snow. A long travel day to say the least.
This was the first New Year's Eve I've not celebrated with my extended family. It was definitely quieter with far less food consumed. We had a great morning of pickleball New Year's Day followed by the Rose Bowl and a late lunch at Mario's with Jim, Angie & Steve.Read more
