  • Hungry Horse, Montana

    27. August 2016 in den USA ⋅ ☀️ 72 °F

We departed Magrath Saturday and arrived at Mt Meadows RV Park in Hungry Horse this afternoon.
We had a wonderful 28 days exploring Canada. We'll miss their excellent highways, national parks, paved multiuse paths, friendly people and favorable exchange rate (though net cost was about even because goods and services are about 25% higher). Good to be back in the USA... missed miles, gallons, fahrenheit, pounds and unlimited data on our phones!
Sunday we took in Kalispell, Whitefish, Whitefish Lake and Hungry Horse Dam and Reservoir. We treated ourselves at the Huckleberry Pie and Jam Factory... delicious homemade huckleberry pie and ice cream.

We arrived back in Oregon at our home base in Boring on Thursday, 9/8, and spent a busy 6 days trimming hedges, cleaning the moho and celebrating. Our talented neighbor, Pat, designed and constructed an awesome weathervane for our storage building. My mother in law, Sharon, and I got our Clackamas County Library cards and signed onto their digital lending program. Sharon and I treated ourselves to pedicures. Randy put his new smoker to good use when we celebrated Sharon's 80th birthday and our son Kyle's 28th with a family picnic. Randy and I took Sharon out to lunch and a movie.Weiterlesen

  • Seaside, Oregon

    21. September 2016 in den USA ⋅ ☀️ 63 °F

Friday we headed north to the Seaside Thousand Trails RV Resort. We took a long bike ride along the promenade and all points in between.... It was a good thing we did because our bikes were stolen the next night😣
Sunday we hit Astoria's Sunday Market then crossed the bridge into Washington and putzed around Long Beach.
We discovered Grizzly Tuna in Seaside, another excellent source for albacore tuna fish and chips. IMHO they're as good a the Bowpicker in Astoria.
Tuesday we spent a wonderful afternoon at Nehalem Bay State Park playing cards and visiting with Kathy, Jim, Linda, Dennis, Judy and Dick.
Wednesday we hiked Tillamook Head. The trail was a bit muddy and we had to maneuver around some landslides but it was well worth it as we were rewarded with amazing views.
