We had a productive morning shopping and sampling at the Pueblo Tesuque Flea Market where we purchased locally produced sauces, soaps, jewelry and beef jerky.
We headed back to the Plaza to tour the Palace of the Governors https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palace_of_the_G… and the New Mexico History Museum http://www.nmhistorymuseum.org/
Both were fascinating especially so because the Palace dates back to 1610 and the History Museum opened in 2009.

A crazy drive to Holbrook, Az. Within 30 minutes we had rain, hail and snow! 😵 Snowing through Gallup to about the Arizona border.
Sun Valley RV Park is a modest little park right off Hwy 40, very convenient to Petrified Forest National Park and the Painted Desert.Read more

Meteors and Eagles

We had a wonderful time exploring the area. Drove west and toured the Meteor Crater and Museum, very impressive. http://meteorcrater.com/
On the way home we stopped at Winslow, Arizona the town made famous by the Eagles song "Take it Easy". RIP Glenn Frey.

Petrified Forest /Painted Desert

We spent a fantastic day hiking through the Petrified Forest National Park and Painted Desert. Toured the Rainbow Forest Museum and Painted Desert Inn.

We had a beautiful drive to Rio Verde RV Park in Cottonwood which is 18 miles southwest of Sedona. It was nice to see tall trees again.

Coconino National Forest

We had an amazing hike on the West Fork Trail along Oak Creek. Sheer red canyon walls, wild flowers, 13 creek crossings, babbling water... a good day.

Verde Canyon Railroad

Death Valley National Park

We spent Sunday and Monday housekeeping and vegging out...it felt good to relax after weeks of hiking, biking, sightseeing and driving.
Today we drove to Death Valley, took in the sights and hiked the Badlands Loop and a some of the Golden Canyon Trail.Read more

Spring Mountain Ranch State Park

Spent this afternoon visiting Spring Mountain Ranch State Park in Red Rock Canyon. The Ranch has a colorful history with some past owners being Vera Krupp (think Krupp diamond) and Howard Hughes. Friday was a long day of travel to New Frontier RV Park in Winnemucca. We passed some beautiful scenery and unusual billboards along our journey. We have beautiful mountain views from our site.
Saturday was spent catching up on housekeeping then visiting the Humboldt County Museum.
Today we had a traditional Basque dinner at the Martin Hotel...very tasty.Read more

OREGON!

We arrived in Oregon Monday, 5/2...it's good to be home! We had a lovely drive to Clyde Holliday State Park in Mt Vernon just west of John Day.
Tuesday was spent exploring the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument where we visited the Thomas Condon Paleontology Center and hiked the Blue Basin. We also went to the Painted Hills...stunning views! Saw the shoe tree on the way back to camp.

Departed Mt Vernon on Thursday, 5/5. Traveled to Prineville, via hwy 29, to Crook County Campground.
Today we spent a relaxing afternoon and evening with our friends Liz and Mark as well so their daughter and her boyfriend at their beautiful home on the Ochoco Reservoir...good company, good drink, good food, a perfect end to our 4+ month journey.Read more
