    July 12 in Albania ⋅ ☀️ 32 °C

This morning I feel a bit flat. It's all very well wanting to see everything but it can get very draining especially when the heat is so intense. I'm doing a bit of research about moving South to the Albanian riviera but the price for even staying in a hostel has gone through the roof. It's obviously peak season in Albania and even since getting here I've seen the prices change with supply and demand. I go to my favourite little coffee bar and spend some time also looking at Theth. This country literally has everything to offer beautiful people amazing beaches and some of the best treks I've done. I chat with one of the guys in the bar and he tells me he earns £20 per day for a 10 HR shift. I wondered why Albanians come to the UK to work leaving such a beautiful country behind but I guess I now know. I will head out tomorrow to a place called Theth to hike to the blue eye so I book my tickets and guesthouse as there are no hostels here and I also have a look at where to go after. It's crazy the prices of hostels have pretty much doubled in the areas I've been looking at. It's peak season now and you can definitely sense this even where I am in Sckoeder. I also manage to get a wash done. Albania has a closed currency which means you can't get money outside the country and although the transit towns have the ability to pay by card in most places the mountain areas are not set up for that just yet so I also get some money exchanged. While I'm out I am walking along one of the back streets I meet up with the couple who I shared the whisky with on the ferry. It's crazy when you travel how your paths cross with the same people. They invited me to dinner but I already have plans with the girls. I really need an early night tonight as I still haven't caught up from yesterday so once again I join the girls and we share a few dishes between us before heading back and preparing for tomorrow.Read more
