• Stolen flip-flops

    July 14 in Albania ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

This morning i go down for breakfast and my flip flops have gone. This is a bit of a nightmare as I only have them and my hiking boots. All shoes were left downstairs so it's a little bit crazy. The guesthouse I'm staying at has a cow and for breakfast then mama brings me a glass of the freshest milk you can get and an egg from the chicken
The milk is still warm and tastes amazing.as well as the egg. I have taken the easy option of getting a taxi from the guesthouse to the bottom of the blue eye trek as it's along the same route I took to the waterfall yesterday. The young girl in the guest house goes up to the other guests room and finds my flip flops apparently they were really drunk last night so took them by mistake but I'm just relieved to have them back. The taxi picks me up at 930 and drops us all off at the base of the trek. Within 10 minutes of starting the trek I fall, the track is very shaley and a group help me up and clean my wounds I am so close to quitting but push on . The trek takes me an hour and a half and when I get to the first clearing I don't find anything I haven't seen before but a further 5 minute trek opens up into the blue eye. It is really beautiful and I'm so glad I pushed on. The bus has arranged to pick me up at 1 and because it has taken so long to get here I only have 10 minutes here before I have to trek back. I am much better at the decline so am back in the village by 1230 and the bus will pick us up at 1 so I enjoy a lemon soda before meeting the bus. Back at the homestay I chat with the mum in broken English. She has 7 children 4 girls and 3 boys. The girls are studying to be nurses and are in college in Sckoeder. I spend a few hours with the family before heading down to the village to catch the bus. As I'm sat I'm the restaurant I ask a table behind me if I can take a napkin and the guy is from Old Swan in Liverpool it's so nice to hear a Scouser it like hearing a little piece of home The bus leaves on time and arrives back in Sckoeder at just after 7. I grab quick shower a bite to eat then go down and get my spec for the game. As I'm sitting here I get chatting to a guy from Albania and when I ask him what he does he tells me he's a pianist of classical music. He shows me on Google and he's really famous. The people yo meet while travelling. At the end of the game I bid him good night. Every muscle in my legs are hurting and I'm so glad to lie down I'm asleep in minutes.
