• Ubud to Candi Dasa

    7 de maio, Indonésia ⋅ ☁️ 29 °C

We were treated to a late departure this morning (11am). It gave us the pause that refreshes. With only one stop between Ubud and Candi Dasa, we were looking forward to a free afternoon at our beach hotel. We visited the Kertha Gosa Hall of Justice, built under the Dutch Colonial regime in the 17th or early 18th century. A local guide told us many interesting stories about how criminal behaviour was repressed with very severe measures. One of the main buildings appeared to be floating but was only an illusion. The museum and grounds were magnificent. We hit the jackpot at the hotel by being given a poolside, beachfront room and had just enough time between a swim and dinner to indulge in another rejuvenating Balinese massage for $15 CDN. At that price, why not spoil ourselves a little. Our evening ended with supper at a local restaurant called Me and You which had a live performer who took requests and allowed some audience participation. We were all up on the dance floor till 10:30 pm!Leia mais
