• Living Like a Local in Chengdu

    23 de mayo, China ⋅ ☁️ 26 °C

We filled our afternoon exploring more of Chengdu and acting like the locals. We ate a delicious Chinese meal at a favourite restaurant of the locals and then visited the Narrow and Wide Alley’s District, where something exciting is always happening, before moving on to the People’s Park, a popular place for the locals to enjoy the outdoors. The park features an artificial lake, gardens, tea houses where you will find the locals playing mahjong, and a dating corner where their is a section for eligible girls and another for eligible boys. Our guide translated one of the dating profiles and we all giggled about how old fashioned the process seemed but it must work as there is reportedly a high turnover of contact sheets! Our group is separating tomorrow with 8 going on to Shanghai and 6 of us going on to Tibet and Nepal. We met our transfer guide Alex and our new travel buddies. We are sad to leave some of our new friends behind and excited to get to know our new travel mates and continue our adventures.Leer más
