Here a Panda, There a Panda!

The day we have all been waiting for has arrived! We have a date with the pandas at the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, created to provide an ideal breeding environment for these adorable, endangered creatures. We learned about their life cycle and the habitat and enjoyed strolling through the grounds, around the lake and through the museum. As an added bonus, we also saw another rare species, the little-known red panda. We got there early and the crowds were light so we had a lot of chances to spot the pandas before it got too hot and they retreated deep into the bamboo forest.
