• Logrono - Wine Tasting & Tapas

    September 28, 2025 in Spain ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

We caught the train at 8:50 this morning and arrived in Logrono at 1pm. Logrono in located in the Rioja wine region. Shortly after we settled in, we did a quick tour around town and visited a local family winery for a tasting. It was very interesting and we learned a lot, not just about the wine making process, but how to tilt the glass to check the colour, and the proper way to smell and taste the wine. The Hoplita Historic Vineyards has been in the family for over 500 years and make single vineyard wines from grapevines that are 90+ years old. After the wine tasting, Zuzanna took us on a tavern crawl to sample small plates of food, called pintxos, which are delicious and typical to this part of Spain. My favourite was the garlic mushrooms over crispy bread with a shrimp on top. We had 4 or 5 stops before hitting the jackpot on our final stop for cheesecake and ice cream. What a blast we had! The day might have been uneventful, but the night definitely made up for it. So many great unexpected surprise experiences with every city. Zuzanna is simply the best guide!Read more
